September 28, 2008 by JasonAlbuquerque again!
September 23, 2008 by JasonI had another great trip to Albuquerque for my birthday, and to get my Stormtrooper armor put together! We felt blessed to be able to receive it in time, and Noel and I were able to get it all assembled in only about 5 hours. Of course we did not have to do the helmet since Noel let me have his old one. I will be posting some more pictures soon including the T-shirts Noel, Celeste, and my mom made me for my birthday, but here are the ones of the armor.
Why I “liked” SiCKO
August 31, 2008 by JasonI watched Michael Moore’s SiCKO tonight, and enjoyed it because it was thought provoking to me. I actually got a little irritated a few times while watching it… but I don’t think external things (ie – movies) can “make you” feel certain ways, so that made me ask myself where those feelings were coming from.
I guess I would summarize the movie as being a propaganda work for socialism in general, not just socialized health care. I think Michael is a pretty good propagandist, so it made me question what I think about socialism. In the end I was not sold on the idea, but it did bring up a lot of things that are fun for me to think about.
There were a few things that stood out as not being very logical to me. One of the big ones was how he showed the US government as being corrupt and “bought” by the medical companies, but then turned right around and proposed that the government providing all health care is the best solution. Seemed strange to me.
I guess Michael is really what I would consider an “idealist”, and he is trying to change the country, and thinks socialism is the best system. Part of me questions whether he is more of the “televangelist” breed, just wanting people to feel like he’s real concerned as a way to make money… but I guess I give him the benefit of the doubt. In any case, I am not either of those things, and if I ever did embrace socialism as much as he does I think I would just move to a socialist country
Fun in Bossier City
August 2, 2008 by JasonLots of pictures going on…
July 20, 2008 by JasonSo now that I have my Mobile Me image gallery, it is just way easy to upload pics. I’ve got a few sets on there that I have not posted on my blog.
We went to Taste of Dallas a week ago, and have some pictures from there. We saw Edwin McCain there, I thought he was really good, and in the picture below he kind of looks like Noel I think.
Other galleries so far include:
Open mic night at White Rock Coffee in Garland
What happens when you mix an iPhone and laughing gas!
You can always just look at my main Gallery page to see all my galleries, but I’ll try to post when there is anything interesting.
White Rock Coffee
July 12, 2008 by JasonI was in Dallas and wanted to find a local coffee shop. I found
wrcoffee.com and think I have a winner! More pics later, I’ll edit
this post at home… Since the wordpress app isn’t out just yet
7/13/08 – I’m kind of waiting on my Mobile Me site to get going before I upload all the other pics. Should be soon…
7/20/08 – Well I’ve been on the Mobile Me site for a few days now but been pretty busy. Anyway, it is great, I love the image gallery on there. So I have finally updated the image above with a link to the gallery!
The 4th
July 4, 2008 by JasonRob wanted to see how Lily would do with fireworks, so we shot off a few on the 3rd. It was fun, also had some delicious ribs.
The morning of the 4th we hung out at the Mudhouse some, yummy! I also got my first taste of Pandora, it is really amazing! I recommend it for everyone! You can see it on Celeste’s Mac that I was borrowing in the corner
Pretty dog
June 9, 2008 by JasonI went over to see my sister Janelle and her husband Maxx at his sister Natasha’s place. There was a cool dalmatian at one of the neighbors, so I took some pictures of it. I also took a couple of pictures at the Frisco Mall later, just because it’s fun to use my iPhone camera sometimes
Also, here’s some pictures of a Dr. Pepper that I let blow up in my freezer the other day. I’m usually pretty good about not doing that. If I put in a DP, I bury it in ice and leave it for only 10 or 15 minutes, and only if I want to drink it right away. I was on the road to Dallas this day and realized I had left one in the freezer, guess I did not want to drink it bad enough.
